whats for lunch?

i am a positive person. i like to say nice things to people, i like to say good things about things, whatever things. however, sometimes i cannot help but criticize the school canteen or foodcourt, whatever you term it.

actually it's not bad, really, it is not like hellish lousy or expensive. in fact it has improved a lot since we satrted school last year. but sometimes, you just dont know what to eat, or just am sick of their offerings. especially so when it comes to snacking. sometimes i want something light. then there is the thinking corner. think of the name already i dont feel like eating there. some more, their food is overpriced. i dont mind paying that kinda money but please give me the commensurate quality.

someone should set up a better sandwich place in BTC. gourmet sandwich and good muffins and cakes and coffee. cos the coffee that thinking corner sells, at $2, is about the same quality (or worse) than the 50cents one in the canteen. it's no big wonder the cafe is not bustling. were it better, students will flock there. there is such a potential market for BTC.

so what to do? sick of cai fan, indian food, beef noodles, western food, jap, malay. i resort to sardine puff, onde onde and ice coffee. actually thay are really some of the best offerings of the canteen. so i am enjoying myself with them.

this is not a complaint entry. just some factual statements of my thoughts.

BANDITS ROCK

THE KOPISHOPROCK BANDITS
from the left: sylvia tee(not teo), yeshye zhu zhiwei, melissa liew, elvin yeo, lee kee min, delphia lim

elvin yeo, the self proclaimed bass god. also a chen lei lookalike, and demoted to bass mortal for his mistakes. thank you for being the 'base' of the group and your stupid jokes and your sexist views which i must add are not unfounded. although you are always late, thankfully you are always or at least mostly good. haha.

mel liew the super songwriter and megan the perfect producer. mel, your songs are amazing and... thanks for being part of the band and many times the band leader as well. your commitment and work is second to none and you're great to be with! i think people might think you are all nice and sweet and though that is true, they should know you cant be bullied heh. great music, great violin, great person, great fun, but you can afford to brush up on your puns and almost-jokes ahahahahahahaha.

sylvia tee, tqui zee, di ren xin, heart of the enemy, eat man's heart, i dunno how many nicknames i have given you. thanks for tahaning me since year 1. you've been one of the funnest girls around and i forgive you for thinking that men and women are equal. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA. joking. i am very happy you are part of the band and though the brass part for kopishop rock was unstable from the start, you got it real polished and pro soon. and you are another look sweet and pure but actually the mind is...quite the contrary. thank you.

keemin and myself. ok, thanks zhiwei for being such a fantastic and charismatic band leader.
KEE-MIN, the electric and accoustic guitar, also the health freak of the band. everytime we go canteen, you only eat guava. you count your calories. you complain you are fat. how can you be fat!!!! thanks for being the nice guy, the blur guy, the helpful member who does a lot of the dirty work like carrying amps. i love kwan song and your guitar part. and your blur look, hiding behind the lamp post during the song and having a real in love look. tell you the truth, we always laugh at you when you play there cos you look so oblivious.

last but not least, DELPHIA the fragile delugionist. haha. our talented superb pianist. people were saying why dont ask XXX or XXX but hey, to my mind DEL is the BEST! and we almost didnt get you! i still remember mel and i asking you in my car whether you were willing. i always thought you were not but you agreed and there! we had our pianist! honestly, could not have asked for a more dedicated and skilful pianist. you were just ideal. and you're so nice, and patient with our pokes. i think we went overboard sometimes but you're more gracious than our crudeness. and thanks for trying to 'prevent' me from 'slipping' off the platform. hahaha. haha. P Diddy.

to my fellow bandits,

WE ARE TIGHT!
thank you for all the fun, all the jokes, all the laughter, the music thats wafts down lim peh street, the lunches, the being late together, the being late and making me wait, the feminist jokes, the sexist comments, the tightness. and so much more.

kopishoprock has been the best law school experience. (besides freshmen days, the period from law camp culminating to the official start of the 1st semester). and in no small part due to you guys.
without stress, worry, planning, or whatever, God helped assemble a group of six that were the best i could ever imagine.
i could never ask for a better combination of people or guys or girls or musicians.
YOU GUYS kopishop ROCK!

i loved every minute of law 4, especially the musical week. every performance day was awesome, and the high i got from performing with the bandits was something i never felt before. music is God's gift, one of His best gifts. and performing music with great friends? a greater gift! i enjoyed the cue-ing, the moving together, the sweetness of the songs, watching mel and keemin get down stage during kwan's song, the missing my snare cos i off-ed it on the second night, the sylvia's brass sounds on the opening song, delphia's emo look on the piano, elvin's 'bassgodyeo' look and the bobbing of the head, the shouting 'WE'RE TIGHT!'.

i love the platform(thanks wendy). everything i love.

thank you band for being the band. and momentarily on saturday for being ah long's jade dragon clan.
there are so many nice pics and these are some really random ones.
i have not chosen to place the best ones here, but you can see them on mel liew's facebook.
will post more pics soon though. my fav ones.

a great verse to memorize and meditate on

Mattew Chapter 6
Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
